Sparkling Holiday Pops will be offered three times during Thanksgiving weekend: This year, for the first time, we will be offering a concert off Cape Ann. On Friday, November 25 at 8:00 PM the Cape Ann Symphony will perform the Holiday Concert at the newly renovated Beverly High School at 100 Sohier Road in Beverly. On Saturday, November 26th at 8 PM, and Sunday, November 27th at 2 PM. the orchestra will perform as usual in the Fuller Audtorium in Gloucester. The program features something everyone will love, from selections from Tchaikovsky’s ballet The Nutcracker and The Little Drummer Boy to Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire, and Winter Wonderland, sung by soprano soloist Kristen Watson. The Cape Ann Symphony Singers, conducted by Wendy Betts, will present Christmas masterpieces by Mozart, Rutter and Handel, including “Hallelujah” from Messiah.
The Cape Ann Symphony Singers will not be performing in Beverly due to space limitations on the stage. However, Ms. Watson will be singing additional festive selections and the orchestra will be adding extra holiday favorites to the program! The concert ends with a carol festival sing-along during which you can lift your voice with hundreds of other singers, supported by an entire symphony orchestra. What better way to bring in the holiday season?
